“And the world cannot be discovered by a journey of miles,
no matter how long, but only by a spiritual journey,
a journey of one inch, very arduous and humbling and joyful,
by which we arrive at the ground at our own feet,
and learn to be at home.”

~ Wendell Berry

Sunday reflection . . . I am that which has emerged from the fire.

I do not define myself by how many
roadblocks have appeared in my path.
I define myself by the courage I’ve
found to forge new roads.

I do not define myself by how many
disappointments I’ve faced.
I define myself by the forgiveness
and the faith I have found to begin
again.

I do not define myself by how long
a relationship lasted.
I define myself by how much I have
loved, and been willing to love again.

I do not define myself by how many
times I have been knocked down.
I define myself by how many times
I have struggled to my feet.

I am not my pain.
I am not my past.
I am that which has
emerged from the fire.

how do I know a man has a good heart?

Once they asked old mudrca: ” how do I know a man has a good heart?”
The wise man replied: ” it’s not about what who says and what makes the
impression, but it’s the feeling, the atmosphere you feel in his presence.
That’s proof. Because no one is able to create an atmosphere that does not
comply with his soul.”

“Good qualities, such as true love for others, trust, fairness,
happiness, gratefulness, empathy, and love for the Truth
all generate harmonious vibrations within the solar plexus,
bringing well-being to the entire nervous system and the body as a whole.”

– Roselis von Sass

And then I heard Love speak.

Dear Ones:

Yesterday, I asked my Fear, “How are you doing, my old friend? What’s going on with you?”

My Fear said, “I’m so tired. Trying to keep everyone and everything safe has completely exhausted me. I can’t do this anymore. Somebody else needs to be in charge now.”

And then I heard Love speak. She said, “Let me take it from here, babe.”

That’s when we all started breathing again.
