There is a light in this world,

“There is a light in this world, a healing spirit
more powerful than any darkness we may encounter.
We sometimes lose sight of this force when there is suffering, too much pain.
Then suddenly, the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people
who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.”

― Mother Teresa

Sunday reflections . . . I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE
Three words quite familiar to  Christians, regardless of religious organization or sect they belong to. For, in listening to these words, they instantly remind Christians of the known sentences of Jesus, recorded in the Gospel of John:

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (Jo14:6)

And then they keep in their hearts the most immediate interpretation of those words, which is that only the followers of Christianity will be able to reach Heaven.
And, naturally, that the members of their own Christian institution are the ones who will reach it more safely.
Such is a thought not much different from the one cherished by the Pharisees at the time of Jesus…

However, these meaningful words of the Son of God are much deeper than they seem at first sight…….”

our spirits remain as youthful and vigorous as when we were in full bloom.

“Age has no reality except in the physical world.
The essence of a human being is resistant
to the passage of time. Our inner lives are eternal,
which is to say that our spirits remain as youthful
and vigorous as when we were in full bloom.
Think of love as a state of grace,
not the means to anything, but the alpha and omega.
An end in itself.”

~ Gabriel García Márquez

“Right here and now, all that is good,
all that is Divine is at your disposal.
Everything you need or need to know
is available to you in stillness.
In stillness there is knowing.”

“Each moment contains a hundred messages from God.
To every cry of “Oh God!”
He answers a hundred times: “I am Here.”
