Sunday reflection . . . Teach this triple truth to all

Teach this triple truth to all:
a generous heart, kind speak,
and a life of service and compassion,
are the things which renew humanity.

~ Buddha

“Give us that grand word ‘woman’ once again, and let’s have done with ‘lady’;
one’s a term full of fine force, strong, beautiful, and firm, fit for the noblest use
of tongue or pen; and one’s a word for lackeys.”

Here is the great Earth,

Here is the great Earth,
filled with the smell of incense,
covered with a blanket of flowers,
the great mountain, the four continents,
wearing a jewel of the sun and moon.
In my mind I make them the Paradise of a Buddha,
and offer it all to You.
By this deed, may every living being
experience the pure World.

The people who have touched the unknowable

The unknowable can be experienced but not known.
It cannot be reduced to knowledge, although your heart can sing its song:….

The people who have touched the unknowable
gather together to share. The sharing is not verbal; it cannot be verbal.
The sharing is of their being, they pour their being into each other.

They dance together, they sing together,
they look into each other´s eyes, or they simply sit silently together.
That´s what was being done with Buddha, with Krishna, with Jesus in different
ways… The lovers of Krishna were dancing with him.

High recognitions . . . You want to know what a sleeping soul is?

” You want to know what a sleeping soul is?
Think of a sleeping person.
He continues to breathe, because his body does it for him.
But he knows nothing of himself.
He is alive, but he gains nothing from this life.
Do you understand what I mean?”

~ Buddha

What helps you?

“…… But hear me, friends:
We, you and I, are to convince them through our lives,
through the strength of our faith,
through the joyfulness of our working,
so that they have to ask us : ‘What helps you, Brothers?’
Only then may we speak…”

~ Buddha.

Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow . . .

“Praise and blame, gain and loss, pleasure and sorrow
come and go like the wind.
To be happy, rest like a giant tree in the midst of them all.”

~ Gautama Buddha

Faithfulness the best relationship.”

The mind of the giver…

“Before giving, the mind of the giver is happy.
While giving, the mind of the giver is peaceful;
and having given, the mind of the giver is uplifted.”

– Buddha

Like swans, they rise and leave the lake.

“Those who awaken never rest in one place.
Like swans, they rise and leave the lake.
On the air they rise and fly an invisible course.
Their food is knowledge.
They live on emptiness.
…They have seen how to break free.
Who can follow them?”
