Good morning…keep on keeping on!

Push yourself a little more today than you did yesterday.
What you’ve learned over the years has settled in now.
You are wiser, and more experienced now.
In fact, you now have more knowledge and experience
than you’ve ever had before in your life.

It may be just the beginning…

“When there is a great disappointment, we don’t know if that’s the end of the story. It may be just the beginning of a great adventure.”

Soul-searching….before you criticize!

“Whenever you are about to find fault with someone,
ask yourself the following question:
What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?”
Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Smile…the storm will pass!

Photo & text credit:

“Smile: Life is like a hedge of flowers in a forest of solitude,
where the leaves are hopes, dreams are the flowers, the thorns are the sad days of life.
Smile because the chips will fall one by one and the hedge will bloom again in spring.”

Between gossip and Truth!

Photo credit: “Soul Healing Mystics’ Light” on Facebook

“A boomerang returns back to the person who throws it.

But first, while moving in a circle, it hits its target.

So does gossip.”

“Yawns are not the only infectious things out there besides germs.

Giggles can spread from person to person.

So can blushing.

But maybe the most powerful infectious thing is the act of speaking the truth.”

Random thoughts #3….while at the stream!

Down at the stream-side it is serene almost ethereal! But for occasional chirping and fluttering in the overhead foliage, the quietude is palpable!
During flood tides like now, the small stream glides so smoothly that it appears stagnant! You can ‘see’ its rhythmic movement as floating twigs dance downstream to the silent music of unseen hands and feel the gentle breeze bringing good tidings from Neptune, the sea Maid, also waltz in synchrony with the same music—nature’s music!
Go with the flow; everything seems to be doing so; more like the order here, and so, unconsciously I turn to the down-stream direction…. just then, the soul expanded and time stood still!
When kind came back to kind, the intellect picked up the threads of thought where it left off: “Go with the flow; flow with the tide!”…… but; the fishes, diving in every direction, balancing like aqua…

Happy Independence Day, India!

We wish all our friends in India a wonderful Independence Day celebration. We also use the occasion to share Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s thoughts on True Independence…of course not only for Indians:

“When will we experience true freedom? Only when we are able to experience the pain of others, only when our hearts are throbbing to console others when they are in pain. Only then will India be truly independent.”

Phantom Limb Syndrome………Part 1.

Seda suddenly reached for the lower section of his right leg only for both hands to clasp each other. He sighed, more like a hiss, and his hitherto bright countenance dampened! The memory of the ordeal in an auto-crash came flooding back: trapped in the wreckage, the hospital, the decision that the leg has to be amputated just below the knee and the physical as well psychological healing process!
The sensation that prompted Seda’s sharp reaction is not new to him; it is something he is emotionally battling to come to terms with: a sensation on a limb that no longer exists; so real that he could virtually twist his unseen ankle and toes and reach out as if to push back a stool!
Frequently, it is pain or nerve-racking twitching as real as any pain on any healthy part of his body. Fortunately, the pains are…

My confusing love for animals!

I love animals in a confusing kind of way! I am not an animal rights activist but, I take exception to caged animals/birds, aquariums and small artificial ponds! They look more like prisoners and animal prisons to me!
I prefer to see animals in their natural habitats! The bird singing free; the squirrel scampering from branch to branch and sometimes hurrying across your tracks; the sleek snake that shows up once in a while and cause panic! The time-keeper doves and noisy crows! The evasive frogs and insects who as night choristers give the nights their special feel: a feel I like to call the rhythm of nature!
…and the king of stunts and cheekiness: wild monkeys! I live in a sub-urban community in the rain forest environment; so, I experience the wild, first hand!
I love to see animals free but, I have never signed up…
