“Every morning I walk like this around the pond, thinking: if the doors of my heart ever close, I am as good as dead.”

    • Sir,
Try and understand the symbolism in the phrase “close the doors to the heart”. Heart here means love. Doors mean all the avenues of expressing or imbibing love, therefore to “close the doors to ones heart” means to deliberately live a loveless, hateful vengeful and wicked life.
So you see, a life devoid of love is completely worthless. Indeed, the scriptures have it that without love all the other virtues are like tinkling cymbals meaning of very little or no worth. Of what value is a life devoid of love? Couldn’t it have been better that such a person was not born at all? Think of the Karmic burden such a soul bears and what awaits him or her in the beyond including possible ego-death or complete elimination from the book of life.
One other thing, Mary Oliver was a deeply thoughtful person and to call her work stupid is very unkind to say the least. One should always try to fathom the meaning and thought process of a piece of writing before criticizing or condemning outright

  1. Mr. Udo Ndha!
Because of my words, you had to dig deep!

But now let’s see how wrong you are:
I did not call “her work” stupid!
    Just this quote!

Did you know her in person?
    Have you once met her?
Because you said: ” Mary Oliver was a deeply thoughtful person…”

Do not try to teach the water how to be wet!
Do not tell the Light what is right or wrong!

    Best regards!

  2. Mary Jane Oliver was not even a woman, she was a man with no intension to reach out and get connected with The Light, although The Light was allready on Earth!
Therefore she died on cancer, with the doors of her heart closed!

  3. Mr. Ndah!
She was gay! A man in the body of a woman!
    That is what I ment!
    Her partner was gay too!
    Look it up!
Your Problem is, that you are blind, so fascinated from your own point of view, not interrested in the view of the Will of God,even though, you always recommend the Word!
