
Though bitter cold the Winter days,
The spark of life goes on,
For now the waxing sun’s returned,
The dark days’ march has gone,
And soon beneath the loamy earth,
The sleeping seeds shall wake,
But first beneath the snowy shroud,
All wild free things must shake.
