Sumners End!

In yonder shaded woodland knell,
Where elfs and goblins dwell,
Yellow leaves come fluttering down,
Tumbling gently to the ground.

A leafy carpet on the ground
Treading softly, make no sound
Resting gently by a tree
Sunlight shines like liquid honey
Casting shadows all around
Autumn leaves come tumbling down.

Over head a pidgeon coos
Lonley sound, empty woods
Chilly winds oer the land,
Heraldind winter
Close at hand.

Now the woodland goes to rest
Squirrels gather nuts to nest
Swallows all have gone away
Come back soon for summer days.
