A Dragonfly Came!

When the heat of the summer
Made drowsy the land,
A dragon-fly came
And sat on my hand,
With its blue jointed body,
And wings like spun glass,
It lit on my fingers
As though they were grass.

  1. the wonder of nature, a fly can land on a heated light bulb and fly away at will no damage done, we put our hand to it and we get burned, it makes you wonder, have a great day

  2. This is beauty.
    I love it.
I am not so much into dragonflies…not of late, but I do recall catching a few in a jar during my misspent youth.
But I was the original ‘Spider-Man.’
I love the image, but I love the poetry so very much more!
    Bravo!
I truly always find ‘added value’ here.
    You got it going on!
Thank you for your service in this shit-time we find us in.
    It is appreciated.
And if you have grown weary of me dropping in things I think may be ‘related’, just tell me, and I will cease and desist, but for now, humor me:
    Please humor me.
Writing is all I have left.

    • You’re welcome with open arms and feel free to drop your thoughts as many times as you can. Words like yours are the tonic and “grease on my elbows” to reach for greater heights. Many thanks.
