Today, as we remember the horrors of war and the devastation caused by the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, let us live peace…let us pray peace…let us be peace.
In the midst of this, we also remember the suffering people of Beirut following the devastation wreaked by the chemical explosion yesterday. We pray for those who have died and their families, those still trapped under rubble, the emergency workers and all whose lives, families, homes and businesses have been shattered.
It seems our planet and her people are suffering in unimaginable ways at present. May God’s presence hold us close, bind us together and give us strength to endure.
