A Fairy’s Friend

Follow the wandering eyes of a cat
And you’ll know just where the Fairies are it
Into the unseen world they glance
Watching Fairies as they dance
Transfixed as they flitter around their heads
Singing them to sleep upon their beds
Fluttering around their whiskers, tickling them so
As their wings beat softly to and fro
And if you could see what’s reflected in a cat’s eyes
Looking on so knowing and wise
You would see a glimpse of another dimension
Other secret realms brought to your attention
That is why a Fairy’s friend is feline
And why a cat may suddenly make a bee-line
Towards the mesmerising dance of light
That shines out before them, burning bright
A little peek into Fairyland
A sprinkle of Fairy-Dust cast from a Fairy hand
To soothe the kitty, into a dreamy sleep
One that’s purringly, peaceful and deep
