#Omens&Symbols . . . . The Doorway

The entrance to a house or sacred space symbolically marks the divide between the sacred
and the profane, the transition from one stage of life to another, the passage from life to
death. To ensure an entrance is more secure from evil influences, people carve motifs into
the surrounding supports, or add symbolic “totems” to the door itself, such as a horseshoe or
door knocker.

  1. It’s funny how that works but the moment I walk into a Catholic Church I feel the power of the Holy Spirit. I feel it elsewhere too. But through that door, and it’s like entering a swimming pool, with “water” descending from above. 🙏
