“The crimson-backed tanager is found in Colombia, Panama, and Venezuela, and introduced to French Polynesia.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and heavily degraded former forest.
A nickname in Panama is sangre de toro (“Blood of the bull”)
