Wisdom Quotes #24…….and Carl Jung spoke!

“The decisive question for man is: Is he related to something infinite or not? That is the telling question of his life. Only if we know that the thing which truly matters is the infinite can we avoid fixing our interests upon futilities, and upon all kinds of goals which are not of real importance. Thus we demand that the world grant us recognition for qualities which we regard as personal possessions: our talent or our beauty. The more a man lays stress on false possessions, and the less sensitivity he has for what is essential, the less satisfying is his life. He feels limited because he has limited aims, and the result is envy and jealousy. If we understand and feel that here in this life we already have a link with the infinite, desires and attitudes change.”

  1. But what if that perceived as infinite and divine gets one labeled as a communist with all the negative connotations associated? Then a completely new obstacle stares humanity in the face, in my opinion.

    • You have a point there but, the question is should one shun the Infinite, Divine and real values of life for fear of being given a label perceived to be negative? Better to be inspired by personal conviction than by herd mentality…..my opinion anyway and I may be way off the mark! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

That’s actually what I’m in support of (where one’s personal conviction is to contribute to the highest truth which involves proper human compassion towards others.) I’m just saying I feel we as people will all face an obstacle in trying to do that which is right because of the current social stigma attached to it.
