“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to always tell the difference.”

“There is love enough in this world for everybody, if people will just look.”

“A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved.”

“If you can do no good, at least do no harm.”

“Never have I risked my life, or even my comfort, in the service of mankind. Shame on me.”

  1. It reminds me of that scene in Princess Mononoke where that girl raised by wolves exhorts that Giant Boar – who recently lost his clan in battle – not to let his heart become so bitter that he becomes a demon. (He eventually becomes a demon anyway though lol.)

    • Sad though but that’s what happens to us in real life…we allow the hard people and difficult experiences around us to to rob us of our good nature! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

    • Too bad, I guess her real target is not to toughen the children but, indirectly, to take it out on someone she cannot reach easily..may be not; it could just be she is simply showing her true self and behaving true to type! Most pitiable are such children, as much as you can help, show them love and compassion! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    • “Cat’s Cradle” may not be as popular as “Slaughterhouse-Five” but, it is indeed a great work! It earned Vonnegut his Master’s Degree and contains some remarkable perspectives on religion/spirituality as well as science and technology…an obvious favorite for deep minds! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
