“When you are in the final days of your life, what will you want?
Will you hug that college degree in the walnut frame?
Will you ask to be carried to the garage so you can sit in your car?
Will you find comfort in in rereading your financial statement?
Of course not.
What will matter then will be people.
If relationships will matter most then,
Shouldn’t they matter most now?”

  1. Thanks for your thoughts. You might consider giving snack items to a local Hospice facility. That is truly a ministry of benevolence, in which no one who receives your gifts will ever know who you are.

  2. Which is what I frequently talk about on my blog. Live life with passion and abandon, tell those you love and appreciate now, while they can hear you. I give my mother flowers now because if I wait until she is dead to put on her grave, I cannot see her enjoy them. She cannot see the love in my eyes when I give them to her. Death is too late. Now. Now is the time.

    • Oh! Wendell, what a moving wish! You remind me of the yellow ribbon story; not one smile Wendell but, thousands and thousands all over the world and not only in your final days but right now and every day! We all cherish your Light through your poems! Warm regards!
